Born to be wild, ok Educated towards heavy science till very far, I did orientate myself towards a business school to give another thoughts to my career.
My first contact with Marketing, except the prior discussions I had with relations evolving in this field before, came from far. I entered these studies, with the desire to learn, btw being a perpetual motivation, and it supports me going further.
I drew benefits in these endeavors reading my very first article in the domain: “marketing myopia”, available here in English. Reference HBR reprint 75507 Theodore Levitt: http://www.casadogalo.com/marketingmyopia.pdf
It makes me state the obvious. Marketing is more than simple communication, cannot be reduces to manipulations wishes from clients. Marketing can infer, without including him in its entirety, on communication. One field amongst many.
More than a department, Marketing is a business philosophy. Companies like Starbuck’s, Amazon who didn’t have a marketing department at the time, are drawing forces from the Marketing Ressources.
A force that is acting on the organization of a business, on its alignment and adaptability to the context suddenly arising, to face the internal and external challenges we have on a day to day basis.
Managing projects, aligning one with the others with these context, tactical or strategic, there is this essential vision of going to. A vision that is the essence of any work, no
It s where we believe people like Steve Jobs are great and unique, He was, amongst other things, it was pretty simple and human. he made employees aware that they can gain and rethink the assumption of "administrative only" way of treating work. simple enough. On the values of work, simply. and of enabling trust of course.
What do I call "administrative only" way of working? Asking one employee to only prepare quarter 2 report, with nothing added. It s easy enough to do these reports and please people:
1. Take report from quarter 1 and rehash it.
2. Find and advise on some tools used, and monitoring of ressources (Control systems, feedback loop), allocate actions
3. Thank everyone in the team and others
So better go over these simple phases, these "copy", "pasre" and "tweak it" and add sth, yes still phase 3 is pretty useful, but get another reason to thank them...
