the machine has exhibited performance that was "remarkable", according to Cern director general Rolf Heuer. In an announcement of the three and a half TeV result, he congratulated the LHC team and stressed the cutting-edge nature of its work.
"We must not lose sight of the fact that the LHC is new, and it wasn't bought off the shelf," he wrote. As with all particle accelerators, the LHC will be periodically shut down for maintenance, but LHC officials recently decided to significantly lengthen the shutdown period. This is in part because the machine takes so long to reach and return from the low temperatures required for its experiments. But the shutdown scheduled for late two thousand and ten will also address an issue with the joints between the machine's superconducting magnets, which must be strengthened before the LHC can run at even higher energies.
"It is a state of the art prototype that is pushing the limits of technology across a wide range of disciplines, and as such it needs to be treated with the greatest respect," Professor Heuer wrote. "It takes time, but as we've seen this week, patience pays dividends." Source: HYPERLINK "http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8576545.st" http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8576545.st
Chapter 24: Multicultural gazpacho Yes could have obviously started with bulls . Given the location I am in, but the first point you get in a business school is to follow the peers pressure and behave in all political correctness. Edward includes himself in the examples; still he had the great luck to travel a fair amount. Even if it does not excuse, Edward is finally happy to discover his first feelings is supported by his modern society teacher. Even if this wonderful person had to apologize to the crowd and to come back to the world of the politically correct. What a wonderful world. Business is a boring world. Coming back to the point: Where is diversity? Here? Ethically, we defend the notion but we will always put our personal interest first, we are common following the same frame of courses, or almost identical. Language-wise, English is not the preferred language, it is the language of business. Ok I might go too far there and could have applied to the native cursus. Still, and even there, counting on fingers people interested and motivated in going to some of the native module Edward is following, Financially, how many of us get the backup for 50% up to total coverage of tuition fees? How many of us get the backup for living expenses?
An MBA is a world of privileges, a world of rights that others dont enjoy. At 50K¬ the entry fee, diversity is widely restrained. This is raising another point, about diversity in business sphere. Given we are coming from a wealthy background, with some family related network and so on, it might appear easy to see that a transition of business to ethical business won t take place any time soon. Succession planning? Which succession planning? Most companies are opportunistic and will recruit the most opportunist and wealthy, in term of qualitative and quantitative, person. Education-wise, first school I am where participation weighs as much as any assessments on what you understood. Yes with that kind of structure, ten years ago, I would be entering Oxford hands up and would not have felt the necessity to carry out an MBA. Networking-wise, follow the path traced, I am blessed with the gift of empathy. I know they will be the first persons to leave the boat if something happens. Why trusting these guys? Because they are the future.
Well I will continue play the game Yes, An MBA is even more disputable, coming straight from our Americans cousins; it still has some issues to get rid of this inheritance. Given all the bashing France is getting, I would get harmed if I wasn´t living there: France is a country of
