Via Scoop.it - Contemporary fiction

Sleeping beauty

For 30 years, I nurtured the lady inside. And coming back to it, discovering this beautiful cream that makes my skin, well the pockets under my eyes, disappears. kind of a placebo effet perhaps, but taking it, I think it is working, hence this post. Well, not about the cream in itself, a kind of a nose bleeding green jello, but about the effect.

No shame, and it happens, so a little bit about one ad for today. Because, well, I worth it and love having a sweet and soft skin with no wrinkles, as these appeared lately.

As for the anecdote, did enjoy the 3 women watching me put some hydrating cream, another one, as I went out of the swimming pool last week.

Using it here and then, not that regularly, but kind of continuing the discussion with the saleswomen about which shirt and tie is going with a very nice costume, or not. I rely on experts,

Call me Flo.

Red Bull Stratos - Felix Baumgartner "I am going home now"

Red Bull Stratos Project from the Tropos life...

Splendid movie of the amazing that has been done.  It is nice to see crazy has its good side :)))).

And another video on Felix Baumgartner history. Well, deep into the library of pictures and videos this link redirects you to. Well, Red Bull had some balls there, and a beautiful simple website.

Apart from the fantastic jump, speaking about the speed of sound. If you are interested a lil't bit by physics, speed depends on the environment as well. on the ground, something like 340 m/s, going higher, pressure drops, hence the speed needed increases, some info here:

So waiting for the FAI to confirm the results. no, not of PV=nRT of perfect gazes, ok to be corrected to get the Mach up there. Well, kind of my educations, loved so much aero and thermodynamics, pdf linked to some of the stuff that happens there.

Still, 39 kms jump is done, as for me, would enjoy much having the sensation of a good old base down the lauterbrunen.... now that the eyes on skydiving is no longer crazy but one starts to understand it is a lot about planning, managing the expected and the unexpected. knowing how to be cold-blooded in front of life threatening situation. I need to jump again.

Anyway, thousands of thanks for making us dream. As for the records, looking forward to the homologation.

One vote if you like, doesn't take long. The title of the picture: "Between the lines" - Florent Mathieu - to reflect on the guidelines for this contest from Oris: "Submit us an artistic photo that illustrates the way arts, musique and literature breathes in you and your personal inspiration.

"Why should your friends vote for you?

By picking and supporting the “winner”, they too, have the chance to win a trip to BaselWorld 2013 too. Sign up for MyOris membership now and take part in the “Pick the Winner” contest. Sign up to MyOris here."

So a universe for this see-through watch in front of a wall made of holes, hence opening up to the whole, and immersed with books that made my eyes wonder in surprise between the lines. The editorial line: See-through. Music giving the staccato rythm, Perspectives of thinking around, and writing to the tic tac from the watch perspective to the keyboard.

Well yes a photo as a photo might be nice, a photo reaching other dimensions here, well perhaps. Series of books used for this pictures, yes really enjoyed reading them.

La fabrique des illusions - Palladio - Jonathan Dee
Le jardinier d'Otchakov - Andreï Kourkov
Flowers for Algernon - Daniel Keyes
The final testament of the holy bible - James Frey
Brave New World - Aldous Huxley
A million little pieces - James Frey

And an instrument from a trip in Cambodia, some CDs, some blank and one famous one from Georges Brassens and a very nice motto (Le temps ne fait rien à l'affaire), a see-through watch, and my surroundings.

the last ebooks reader from Amazon

About one, the last Kindle Paperlight. Well, Amazon is surely a great company, drawing its web through its supermarkets application. Stilll, reading the article, it points out one thing to me:

How to raise quality of ebooks released? I am an "author", and true enough, mystakes are easy to make whatever the review and correct options you are taking. Microsoft Word is an english based software, not aware of all tweaks of French or even English languages.

Hence true quality is mainly up to the author nowadays, and the main parameter slowing self published ebooks to enjoy the success it will enjoy. Well from feedbacks, publishers are making these grammar checks as additionnal paid services or on the own work of the author. Most good proofreading persons have seen this niche and making most of it. Because, sincerely, yes, the first feedback I have on the first review of any of my books, is about that. Well, after it is simpler to update the file on KDP than on paper, that's for sure.

And on the ads side, don't know who is managing the kindle product, certainly many people, given all the different prices for the same products here or in Europe, or elsewhere, and now that:

Reading trough the lines display, I saw first a repetition, cannot be anything else, or a marketing move to make me speak about the new product... It worked.

or "I have met met Neat not so long after my father died..."

So, Retrouvé, retrouvé??? really?

On the same field, when applying to amazon, I always get the same writing line displayed:

Aie, I know English is the main language of Amazon. Yet, if you are making the effort of using automatic pages, get it right. with a é and a à and a comma please.

Well, I am sure Amazon won't be angry at my comments. Any bad comments are still good publicity, and the system of feedbacks from Amazon constitutes an essential tool for the success the company enjoys.

I am not angry when someone points a mystake, it can happen to everyone, still a business, a gathering of one and one and one and more? Sure this post and others might have mystakes, well I do not enjoy the same visibility as ...

Well as of the product the kindle paperlight. need to see it physically first before sharing any of my impressions...  I do enjoy the cosy light a traditionnal book can be read with. Looks to me like a decent marketing moves, creating the needs where well ... And seeing the rendering of ebooks on the ipad, looks kind of the same as the pictures. Maybe a move Amazon has to do to keep on, of course. So for now, still a fan of the kindle touch whenever I will buy an ebook reader.

Hats Off
